Latest report · Ofsted register to 30 June 2026
New, closed and growing nurseries in England. And the company behind each one.
After each Ofsted release, NurseryWatch sends your sales team a two-page market brief and a workbook that filters to your territory: the nurseries, pre-schools and clubs run by companies and charities that opened, closed, changed hands or added places, with the owner behind each one and its Companies House record where we find it.
Your first report is free for up to 10 local authorities you name: the brief, plus your openings, closures, expansions and inspection call lists. Then £495 a year, or £149 a report, for all of England every quarter, with the owners behind every move.

- Not yet inspected
531 settings run by companies and charities were registered 12 to 18 months ago and have never been inspected. Ofsted usually inspects a setting registered before April 2026 within 30 months, so each one's first visit is due by the end of 2027.
Who you call
The brief ends with four call lists, one for each kind of supplier.
- Software and insurers
Call openings first.
1,371 settings run by companies and charities opened in six months; 342 companies entered childcare for the first time. Call them while they are still choosing.
- Trainers and consultants
Sell inspection readiness.
777 settings registered 12 to 18 months ago have never been inspected and 290 have a weak report card, each with the area that let it down.
- Food, resources and recruitment
Sell the upgrade.
742 settings added places. More places means more meals, more furniture, more staff.
- Anyone selling to groups
Call head office.
105 groups grew by two or more settings and 423 closed settings reopened under a new owner. One call at head office covers every site.
What is in every report
Within a week of each Ofsted release, a two-page market brief you can print: what moved at England's nurseries, pre-schools and clubs since the last release, and who to call now. And a workbook that opens in Excel and filters to your territory: every opening, closure and expansion at a setting run by a company or charity, four inspection call lists, and, in the full report, every group that grew or shrank, every handover with both owners, and every company new to childcare, with its Companies House record where we find one.
Childminders and nannies are not covered. Settings run by individuals are counted in every total and never named, and so are companies whose name may identify a person.
